Applications

Cutting speeds range from 361 to 755 sfm with feeds between 0.007 and 0.018 in/rev and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. This insert supports general to interrupted cutting operations within these parameters. The maximum depth of cut of 0.197 in sets the upper limit for machining conditions. This CNMG insert is designed primarily for ISO P30-P35 steels and secondarily for M20-M30 stainless steels, K30 cast iron, and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. Its negative rake chipbreaker and robust edge strength make it ideal for roughing and interrupted cuts, especially in steel and cast iron, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling.
