Applications

Cutting speeds range from 115 to 656 sfm, feeds from 0.004 to 0.012 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. This insert excels in continuous to general cutting conditions, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.118 in. It is designed primarily for ISO S05-S15 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium) and secondarily for M10-M20 (stainless steel) and H05-H10 (hardened steel). Its positive rake geometry and fine 0.002″ nose radius make it ideal for finishing and semi-finishing applications, but it is not suitable for heavy interrupted cuts.
