Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.020 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. It is designed for continuous cutting operations only. The positive rake chipbreaker and 55° diamond shape provide excellent profiling clearance and low cutting forces within these parameters. It is optimized for machining ISO group N (non-ferrous metals). The insert excels in finishing applications such as copy turning and contouring of aluminum and copper alloys. Interrupted cutting is not recommended due to the positive rake and chipbreaker design, which limits its use to stable, continuous cuts.
