Applications

This SNMG432-VM insert supports cutting speeds and feeds suitable for medium to heavy roughing with a depth of cut up to 3.0 mm. Feed rates can range from 0.08 to 0.25 mm per revolution, accommodating robust metal removal rates. The 1/32″ nose radius balances edge strength and surface finish for production turning and boring. Ideal for ISO P and ISO K materials, this insert excels in heavy rough turning of steel and cast iron, including operations with interrupted cuts, forged scale, and inclusions. Its negative rake and square shape make it unsuitable for profiling or contouring but highly effective in face turning at 90° and boring tough materials under demanding conditions.
