Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.014 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. These parameters define its operational limits for continuous cutting applications. It is designed for use primarily with ISO material group N (Non-ferrous metals). The VCGT insert is optimized for stable, continuous finishing cuts on non-ferrous metals. Its positive rake and finishing chipbreaker make it unsuitable for interrupted cutting or rough conditions. This insert excels in precision turning and profiling of aluminum and copper alloys where minimal cutting force and excellent surface finish are required.
