Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds up to 300 m/min, feeds ranging from 0.30 to 0.80 mm/rev, and depths of cut up to 3.0 mm. Its large 1″ inscribed circle and 3/32″ nose radius enable heavy roughing and high material removal rates on larger workpieces. The negative rake geometry and robust edge design excel in interrupted cuts and rough turning operations. Ideal for ISO P and ISO K materials, primarily steel and cast iron, this insert is well-suited for medium to rough turning, facing, and boring in rigid setups. It is not recommended for precision finishing, profiling, or thin-wall workpieces due to its higher cutting forces and limited clearance at the 80° point angle.
