Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds between 0.003 and 0.010 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. It is designed for general cutting and universal grade applications. The positive rake chipbreaker and 80° diamond shape with a 1/64″ nose radius enable effective semi-finishing to medium machining with good edge strength for light interrupted cuts and moderate feeds. It is suitable for ISO material groups P30-P40 (steel) as the primary range, with secondary applicability to M20-M30 (stainless steel), K20-K25 (cast iron), and S15-S25 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium). This insert is not recommended for heavy roughing or severe interrupted cuts due to its positive rake geometry and limited edge strength.
