Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 427 to 820 sfm, feeds between 0.009 and 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. It is designed for medium to low-speed roughing with general to interrupted cutting conditions. It is suitable primarily for ISO P25-P35 steels and secondarily for M25-M35 stainless steels. The negative rake chipbreaker and robust 80° diamond shape make it ideal for interrupted cuts and heavy roughing on steel and stainless, but it is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling.
