Post-processing of Machined Workpiece now Made Easy with Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheel. 3M presents its unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into nonwoven nylon fibers with Scotch-Brite EXL deburring wheel. The unique blend of abrasive minerals with fibers increases the overall product life. Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheel is available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. Silicon carbide is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications while Aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that provides high cut-rate and long life. Convolute construction and clean, uniform wear keep the wheel running smoothly. This type of construction offers a wrapped surface on a standard-sized core while the “flat” of the web becomes the cutting tool. These EXL convolute wheels can demonstrate excellent performance on stainless steel, titanium, and high nickel alloys. Scotch-Brite wheels from 3M offer one of the most complete selections of surface conditioning wheels. 3M has continued to raise its performance bar even after five decades of leading existence by adapting to new and advanced technologies in the design of surface conditioning wheels. Scotch-Brite EXL deburring wheels are available in diameters of 6, 8, 10, 12 inches. It is well-suited for an array of cleaning, blending, deburring, finishing, and polishing applications. All-wheel models are designed to prevent undercutting or gouging through their controlled abrasive action.

Benefits

  • Can improve surfaces without significantly changing the shape or dimension of the workpiece.
  • Excellent choice for deburring and polishing.
  • The disc runs cool, minimizes smearing.
  • The toughness of the wheel extends its service life.
  • The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.
  • Ideal for Robotic Deburring.

Applications

  • A wide range of operations including Deburring, Deburring Edges, Finishing, Flat Finishing, Polishing, Stainless Steel Finishing, Straight line – Brushed Finish is possible.
  • Discs with Silicon Carbide abrasive can also be used to give a fine finish to precision-tooled pieces.
  • Best fit on Bench Top Motors, Inline Sanders, Manual Back stand.
  • Wheels are designed to perform optimally between 1,800-9000 rpm.
  • Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheels works well on workpiece range: Metal Alloys, Plastics, Composites, Stainless Steel, Titanium, and High Nickel Alloys.

Features

Runs Cool, Minimizes Smearing
  • Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheel creates a clean surface without smearing, reducing the need for additional clean up and preparation.
  • Convolute construction and clean, uniform wear keep the wheel running smoothly and help the operator attain a professional finish while minimizing the pressure required on the workpiece.
  • Our Scotch-Brite nonwoven material runs cool and provides the EXL Deburring Wheel with uniform wear and keeps fresh abrasives continuously exposed, making it a superior choice on heat-sensitive substrates.
  • The toughness of the wheel extends its service life.
Ideal for Robotic Deburring
  • With a wide range of conformability options and high consistency, long-lasting Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are a great option for robotic deburring.
  • Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheel quickly removes burrs and sharp edges in end-of-arm tooling operations, delivering consistent performance through the full life of the abrasive.
Available in Your Choice of Mineral
  • Scotch-Brite EXL Deburring Wheel is available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive mineral.
  • Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep and finishing.
  • Aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that provides high cut-rate and long life.
  • While silicon carbide breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a finer finish.
