Applications

This CNMG866-GR NC5330 insert supports cutting speeds from 361 to 755 sfm, feeds from 0.016 to 0.039 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.591 in. Its large nose radius and robust geometry enable heavy roughing and interrupted cutting with high material removal rates. The insert excels in general to interrupted cutting applications, handling demanding conditions with strong edge durability. It is optimized for ISO P30-P35 steel as the primary material group, with secondary suitability for M20-M30 stainless steel, K30 cast iron, and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. The negative rake chipbreaker and 80° diamond shape make it ideal for medium to rough turning and facing, especially where interrupted cuts occur, but it is not intended for precision finishing or profiling operations.
