Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.010 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.157 in. These parameters enable precise control in light finishing and semi-finishing operations. The small nose radius of 1/64″ is ideal for achieving excellent surface finishes with limited depth and feed. Designed specifically for ISO group N (Non-ferrous metals), this insert excels in continuous cutting applications. Its positive rake and finishing chipbreaker make it unsuitable for interrupted cuts or rough conditions. It is best suited for stable finishing of aluminum, copper alloys, and other non-ferrous materials where low cutting force and heat generation are critical.
