Applications

Cutting speeds range from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.002 to 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.236 in. The maximum depth of cut is the hard upper limit for this insert. This insert is designed for continuous cutting operations only. It is optimized for ISO material group N (Non-ferrous metals) and is best suited for finishing to light semi-finishing cuts. The positive rake geometry and small 1/64″ nose radius provide low cutting forces ideal for thin-wall workpieces and low-rigidity setups, but it is not suitable for heavy interrupted cuts or roughing.
