Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 492 to 3281 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.012 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.157 in. These parameters enable precise finishing and light semi-finishing cuts. The small 0.008″ nose radius is ideal for achieving fine surface finishes with limited depth and feed to preserve edge life. Designed primarily for ISO N materials, this insert excels in continuous cutting of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper. Its positive rake and 55° diamond shape provide excellent profiling clearance and low cutting forces, making it well-suited for copy turning and contouring operations. Interrupted cutting is not recommended due to the insert’s geometry and chipbreaker design.
